This artwork emphasizes the stories and actions of the darkest phase of independent India. The crochet work symbolizes the act of creating beautiful new life. In the first painting, I have painted the architecture of the Supreme Court of India. It is protected by the Eagle, the bird Garuda in Indian Mythology. The bird is protecting this supreme power from the arrogant power, displayed in the form of an elephant. Glasses symbolize the powerful person who ruined the hard-earned freedom for the sake of power. In the second painting, I have painted a girl looking at Nefertiti with the feeling, 'I want to be strong like you'. -Ritu Sinha
