Gambino Vineyards in Taomina, Sicily is one of the most breathtaking vineyards in Italy. National Geographic did a documentary on the estate, discussing it's long history, location on the east side of the Etna Volcano and how the weather on Mount Etna affects the grapes. Alfano took a fresh perspective of the vineyard creating a glowing landscape of vines with the coolness of evening fog rolling in. His use of infrared film allows him to produce a quiet, serene image filled with abstracted forms due to the change in how the light reflects off of the leaves.
